I finally did it, I bought a spinning wheel!
After nearly having a nervous breakdown trying to assemble it, I finally sat down and attempted to spin some Corriedale fibre with the help of Judith MacKenzie McCuin's book (Teach Yourself Visually Handspinning), and YouTube (such a great resource!).
And this is what I have so far...
...yes its a big mess, but it is so much fun, oddly very relaxing and like knitting its has become a daily activity which I very much look forward to.

Wow, what a gorgeous wheel! Your spinning looks fantastic too :)
I am so jealous!!
I always wanted to learn how to spin. I do have a drop spindle, but since i'm not so good it is not very relaxing and not very rewarding!
That's great! I look forward to seeing your progress. I have a couple of old wheels from my grandmother but have only given it one go. Still on my 'to do one day' list though :)
i'm rather glad that i'm not the only beginner spinner who is selling hand dyed fibre! *breathes sigh of relief*
oh...you are going to have fun!
You're so brave. Have fun with it!
